Atrium

Five specialised AI agents read invoices, match them to orders, draft vendor emails and watch for fraud. Your team decides only the exceptions. Starts with accounts payable.

What it does

Atrium runs five AI agents that read invoices, check them against orders, draft vendor emails, watch for fraud and route exceptions. An operator watches the work on screen and approves, changes or rejects the few decisions the agents hand back.

The first workflow is accounts payable. Other back-office workflows can run on the same platform.

How it works

  • A cockpit. The operator sees the agents working, with an activity log of what each one is doing and why.
  • A decision queue. Each hand-back arrives as a Decision Request on the right. The operator approves, modifies or rejects, with keyboard shortcuts.
  • Five agents. One reads, one matches, one handles vendor language, one checks fraud and compliance, one deals with exceptions.
  • Scripted scenarios. You can play through a variance escalation, a translated invoice, a bank-change fraud catch and a duplicate reminder.

The interface has a desktop operator cockpit, a mobile presenter view and an admin console. Each tenant has its own colour theme; the prototype carries manufacturing, commodity trading and agribusiness themes.

How the lab built it

Agents with a narrow job

Each agent gets a narrow toolset and a focused context. Agents write their reasoning into the activity log, and when a case is unclear they open a Decision Request instead of guessing. They call Claude through the Anthropic SDK behind a provider abstraction, so the model can change without touching the agents.

Memory for duplicate checks

A duplicate-invoice check uses past work as memory. Non-English invoices appear with a side-by-side translation. Updates reach the screen live over server-sent events.

Built for several tenants

Atrium is multi-tenant, with row-level security and a theme per tenant. Token spend is tracked per tenant, so cost shows up beside the work.

Who it’s for

Atrium is for finance and operations teams that spend their days on repetitive back-office work, starting with accounts payable. The agents handle the reading, matching and drafting, and the team keeps the decisions that need judgement. It suits companies with many vendors, several languages or several entities.
