BlinkDine
The AI-powered digital dining experience for restaurants. Guests scan a table code to order and pay, and venues run orders, kitchen, team and loyalty from one intelligent system.
What it does
BlinkDine is the AI-powered digital dining experience for restaurants. A guest scans the code on a table to see the menu, order and pay, with no account and no app to install. Behind that, a venue manages menus, orders, the kitchen screen, staff and loyalty from one system.
Every fee is shown before payment. BlinkDine is designed never to be the merchant of record: funds go from the guest to the payment provider to the venue.
How it works
- Guests. QR table ordering and payment, split bills, gift cards, points and another round in one tap.
- Venues. A web studio for menus and orders, a crew app and a kitchen display.
- Markets. Multi-currency support and local phone formats.
- Developers. A documented REST API and a command-line client.
How the lab built it
Safety rules in code
Four rules are enforced in code: allergen safety, every fee shown before payment, tip prompts only after service, and the platform never holding guest funds.
One backend for web and native
The web apps and the iOS consumer and crew apps share one OpenAPI-first multi-tenant backend. A country-pack hierarchy lets a new market add its own currency, formats and rules without a rewrite.
AI behind a seam
AI is routed through a provider abstraction, with Claude as the default. The design includes a guest concierge, a server “whisper coach”, a menu co-pilot and a daily digest. The AI layer is designed around these four roles.
Who it’s for
BlinkDine is for restaurants, cafes and bars that want guests to order and pay from the table without an app, and for the managers and kitchens who run them. It suits venues that want orders, kitchen, team and loyalty in one system, and groups that operate in more than one country.
