Comparizzo
See exactly what changed between two versions of a file, in your browser. Text, JSON, PDF, Word, images and more, with three-way merge. Nothing is uploaded.
What it does
Comparizzo compares two versions of a file and shows what changed: a config file, a contract draft, an exported spreadsheet or an image. It handles text, JSON, CSV, Markdown, XML, PDF, Word documents, images and raw bytes, and it offers a three-way merge. All processing happens in the browser, so the files never leave your machine.
How it works
- Views. Split, unified and block views, at line, word or character level.
- Images. Two-up, slider, pixel difference and onion-skin modes.
- Documents and data. JSON, CSV, Markdown, XML, PDF, Word and hex comparisons.
- Merge. A three-way merge with live merged output and conflict handling.
- Share. Export a patch or an HTML report, or share a link.
Navigation is keyboard-first. The documented size limits are 5 MB for text, 20 MB for images, 30 MB for PDF and 10 MB for binary files.
How the lab built it
Nothing is uploaded
Comparison runs entirely in the browser, with no server that sees a file. That includes PDF text extraction and rendering, Word document extraction and pixel-accurate image diffing.
Large diffs stay fast
Virtual scrolling keeps long diffs responsive, and the three-way merge handles conflicts explicitly.
Who it’s for
Comparizzo is for anyone who needs to see exactly what changed: developers reviewing configs, lawyers and finance teams comparing document versions, designers checking images. Files stay in the browser, so it suits confidential material.
