Parkberry
Turn an unused driveway, garage or lot into income, or find a private space that fits your car, with EV charging where available. Search, booking, access and payment in one place, Switzerland first.
What it does
Parkberry lets people with a driveway, garage or lot list it. Drivers search a map, book a space by the hour or the month, and pay for it. Some spaces include an EV connector.
Parkberry handles search, booking, access, messaging and money between the two sides. It runs in English, German, French and Italian, with light, dark and system appearance on the web.
How it works
- List. A host describes a space, and the listing flow turns free text into a draft.
- Search. Drivers search on a map. A vehicle-fit gate checks height, length and EV connector type before a space is offered.
- Book. Short-term and monthly bookings, with access by QR pass, permit or in-person handoff.
- Rate. Hosts and drivers rate each other.
How the lab built it
Money that has to balance
Every money path runs through a double-entry ledger, and the code asserts that the ledger nets to zero after each one. Payment flows are transactional and idempotent, so a retried request is built not to repeat a charge.
Booking as a state machine
A booking moves through explicit states with defined transitions. Search runs on PostgreSQL with PostGIS, so “spaces near here that fit this vehicle” is a single geospatial query.
AI-supported, deterministic by default
The listing flow parses free text, asks clarifying questions and drafts the listing. It runs offline and deterministically by default. A language model can be plugged in behind the same interface when a key is configured.
Who it’s for
Parkberry is for people with a driveway, garage or lot they want to earn from, and for drivers who need a space that fits their vehicle, whether by the hour or by the month. It also suits EV drivers looking for a space with a connector. It starts in Switzerland and runs in four languages.
