Telebimmer
Your BMW, explained. Telebimmer messages you in Telegram when something matters: fault codes in plain language, fuel forecasts, theft and hail alerts. Independent of BMW.
What it does
Telebimmer lives at telebimmer.com and in Telegram. It connects to the official BMW CarData service and messages you when something matters. It is read-only and needs no hardware in the car. Telebimmer is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to BMW AG.
It tells you about:
- Fault codes in plain language, in your own language.
- Fuel running low, forecast from your own consumption history.
- Movement without a trip, or fuel dropping while the car is parked.
- Hail near the parked car, from a geofenced weather watch.
You can also get history charts, weekly and monthly reports, a CSV export and service reminders.
How it works
- Connect your car to the BMW CarData service from Telegram.
- Wait for a message. Telebimmer sends one when a fault code, a fuel level, a movement or the weather needs your attention.
- Check the age. Each value carries a label that says how old the data is.
- Share if you want. Invite family with a 24-hour code and revoke access with one tap. One account can hold several cars.
Telebimmer is not available for cars registered in the US, Canada or China.
How the lab built it
Proactive, on an official API
Telebimmer runs on the manufacturer’s own data service, so it needs no dongle and no reverse engineering. The lab site links out to it, and Telebimmer keeps its own brand and its own site. It turns a stream of raw signals into short messages: plain-language fault-code explanations, a fuel forecast that learns from the owner’s history, and anomaly checks for a fuel drop while parked or movement without a trip.
Data age on every value
Every value in a message carries its age, so an alert never claims more freshness than the data has.
Bring your own agent
Owners can create a personal read-only token and a skill file, then connect their own AI assistant to their car’s data. The token cannot change anything.
Who it’s for
Telebimmer is for BMW owners who want to know what their car is doing without a dongle or a dealer visit. It suits drivers who park outside, families who share a car, and anyone who wants fault codes explained in plain language. telebimmer.com lists the free tier and the current plans.
