Work
An e-games tournament and competition platform
A digital platform that made e-games more fun and competitive, letting gamer communities connect, play, compete, win and grow, with skill-based matchmaking and social features.
- What it proves
- That we can take a consumer platform from vision to a working product handed to the customer.
- Method stages
- Built from
- Online tournament and competition platform
- Skill-based matchmaking
- Social features for gamer communities
- Optional play for stakes
The problem
Competitive gaming is large, but organised competition is still out of reach for most players. A casual player who wants a fair match often meets opponents far above or below their level. Gamer communities have places to talk and little infrastructure to compete and grow.
What we built
The vision was to democratise e-sports competition through a scalable online platform. We shaped digital platforms around four ideas:
- Social features, so communities can connect and stay together
- Skill-based matchmaking, so players meet others of a similar level
- Competitions players can enter, win and climb
- The option to play for stakes, for those who want more on the line
The result made e-games more fun and more competitive, and gave gamer communities one place to play, compete, win and grow.
What it proves for a client
We delivered a working product to the customer. Matchmaking, community features and competition formats ran together in one platform built to scale.
Method stages
The work covers Stage 02 · Prove the value, with the core experience tested early, and Stage 03 · Engineer the system, with the platform built to scale. See the KARPINITY Method.
