The problem
A trade is often agreed in a call or a chat. The trade recap is the written confirmation of what was agreed: the counterparties, the commodity, quantity, price, delivery terms and payment terms. When each trader writes the recap in their own format, fields go missing, wording drifts and the counterparty has to ask what was meant. Every query costs time, and an unconfirmed deal is an open risk.
What we built
A trade recap creation application for a commodity and energy trading company in the UAE. It gives every trader one standard form with the required fields, so a recap cannot go out half complete. The output follows one agreed layout, which makes it easy for the counterparty to read and for the back office to check.
What it changes
Recaps look the same whoever writes them. Confirmation starts from a complete document, and disputes about what was agreed have a clear record to point to. A deal captured cleanly at the start is easier to carry through every later stage.
