The problem
A commodity trade passes through many hands. It starts at the desk and moves through confirmation, logistics, contract administration, risk, finance, legal and tax, before the money settles. In a fast-growing trading company, each team often builds its own way of doing its part. That works until the business enters a new market or hires faster than people can be trained.
What we built
We documented and standardised the entire trade lifecycle for a commodity and energy trading company in the UAE. Each stage has a defined owner, a defined set of steps and defined hand-offs to the next. KPIs and controls sit inside the process rather than beside it, so performance is measured and risk is checked at the point where work happens.
What it changes
The organisation moves to a higher level of process maturity. New markets, new products and new people fit into a process that already exists, so scaling does not mean reinventing it.
Method stages
The work covers Stage 01 · Ground the case, where the current process is mapped, and Stage 03 · Engineer the system, where the standard is put in place. See the KARPINITY Method.
